App.Jockey Sameer Qureshi the rider of Master Trainer S M Abbas reported that in the final stages of the race his mount was inconvenienced by JUST NICE (K Sunny Kumar) which was shifting ground on its outside .

Trainer S Nawab and Jockey Pradeep Kumar were called in and questioned regarding the running and riding of MASTER MARS. Trainer stated that his charge is running as 4 years old after a set back under training and the gelding was fractious in the gate practice. However, he instructed Jockey Pradeep Kumar to jump out and position well and do his best in the straight. Immediately after the race the Jockey stated that his mount was “hanging in” and changing legs during the race. Jockey Pradeep Kumar further stated that before accepting to ride he had ascertain from Jockey M Chetri about the behavior of the horse who had ridden it in  gate practice and track work who informed him that MASTER MARS was having a habit of galloping its head high and informed him to be more cautious.

However, not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey Pradeep Kumar, he was advised to ride out with hands and heels and desist from the undesierable practice of repeatedly bumping on his mount in the final stages of the race. The horse was impounded for veterinary examination and the Club’s Veterianry Officer reported no apparent abnormality.

Urine sample was taken for analysis from the winner SHANTIROOP in the presence of Trainer A Khan and sent for Analytical test.
