b f STEVALENA, a declared starter in the above race was examined by the Veterinary Officer at about 11.25 A.M. and found to be lame on right fore. Under the circumstances the filly was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. Tr. Bharath Singh was informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.

CAPTAIN COOK (P Trevor), DESERT GOD (David Allan) and FLY WITH THE WIND (App Munna Alam) were slow to begin.
