AMAZING MARIA (A Ashhad Asbar) and EARNEST RULER (Neeraj Rawal) were slow to begin.

When afforded an opportunity to explain the change in pattern of running of his charge AMAZING MARIA, Tr. Rutherford Alford stated that he had instructed the jockey to place his charge in 3rd/4th position in the early and middle stages and thereafter as usual to do his best. He was disappointed that the jockey took an unduly long lead in the early stages of the race. On questing Jockey A Ashhad Asbar stated that on being slow to begin he slapped his mount down the shoulder with the whip to improve its position which unfortunately made the filly take a hold of the bit and gallop too freely in spite of his best efforts thereafter to restrain her. The Stipendiary Stewards after viewing the CCTV replay of the race were of the opinion that Jockey Asbar be given the benefit of doubt and decided to take no further action except noting the incident.

The Veterinary Officer reported that ROYAL BRUTE returned with a cut injury on left fore.
