Trainer Ajay Sharma and Jockey G S Shekhawat were questioned regarding the running and riding of SHIVALIK CHARM. Trainer stated that:-
i)    He had instructed the jockey to position 4th /5th and do his best on entering the straight.
ii)    As his charge was running after long  lay off in its first engagement for the season in race No.53 on 20th Oct 2016 wherein it was reported of lameness and was withdrawn.
iii)    Hence  he had advised the jockey to make use of the whip very sparingly.
iv)    After the race the jockey reported that his charge was holding the bit and running awkwardly.

The jockey corroborating the trainers statements stated that his mount was holding the bit throughout the race whereby he was not in position to ride out his mount. The matter was reported to the Stewards, who viewed the CCTV replay of the race and after due deliberations the Stewards advised the Stipendiary Steward to warn the Jockey and the Trainer concerned. The horse was impounded for veterinary examination and the Club’s Veterinary Officer reported no apparent abnormality.

App Jockey Muzammil Hashmi the rider of ONLY FOR YOU reported that approaching 900 mts he was inconvenienced by ACKER BILK (Irfan Ali) on his outside.

EXPENSIVE (V S Gautam) was running detached from the field, Trainer H A Khan was informed not to accept with his charge until it was capable of a better performance.

The Club’s Veterinary Officer reported that ACKER BILK (Irfan Ali) returned lame on left  fore during the race. Trainer Irfan Ali was advised a veterinary certificate of fitness would be required prior to presenting for future trial or race.

The Club’s Veterinary Officer reported that ASHWA ABHIRAJ (Bhanu Pratap Singh) returned lame on left fore. Trainer H A Khan was advised a veterinary certificate of fitness would be required prior to presenting for future trial or race.

The Club’s Veterinary Officer reported that GLENEAGLES (Arun Kumar) had  sustained a cut injury on right hind leg tendon after the race. Trainer K P Singh was advised a veterinary certificate of fitness would be required prior to presenting for future trial or race.

Urine sample was taken for analysis from the winner VEER in the presence of Trainer Shakti Singh  and sent for analytical test.
