APALACHEE was permitted to be withdrawn as there was no suitable replacement Jockey available to substitute Jockey P S Chouhan who was unable to fulfill his riding engagements for the day.

SHIMMERING STAR (R S Bhati) was fractious while being stalled.

At an enquiry held immediately after the running of the race into the running and riding of GLORIOUS LEAPS, Tr. Aashary Doctor stated that while he had no adverse comments on Jockey Mudassar Nazar’s positioning of his  charge in the early and middle stages of the race, he was of the opinion that the Jockey had not performed with adequate vigour to his riding in the final 300 metres of the race. Jockey Mudassar Nazar when queried stated that he rode to the best of his ability and followed the Trainer’s instructions. The Stipendiary Stewards after reviewing the CCTV replay of the race and not being satisfied with the explanations of Jockey Mudassar Nazar and Tr. Aashay Doctor decided to :-

a)    Fine Jockey Mudassar Nazar a sum of Rs. 15,000/- for unsatisfactory riding of his mount GLORIOUS LEAPS.

b)    Caution Tr. Aashay Doctor to ensure that his charges are run and ridden in such manner that leaves no  room for query, failing which he would be reported to the Stewards.
