Racing Incidents

SHIMMERING STAR (Imran Chisty) which was fractious while being stalled,  fly jumped out  from the gates.
 
Tr. Vikash Jaiswal when afforded an opportunity to explain the  improved performance of his  charge    b h APALACHEE (P S Chouhan), the winner of this race, as compared to its previous outing in Race No. 112, stated that :-

a)    The change of equipment (blinkers ‘on’) was an advantage to the horse.

b)    The horse was running with a weaker set of horses and it was a NO WHIP race.

The Stipendiary Stewards after reviewing the positioning of the horse in its previous runs and the statement of the Trainer regarding change of equipment as one of the reasons for the improved performance, were not satisfied with the explanations tendered by Tr. Vikash Jaiswal and decided to fine him a sum of Rs. 10,000/- for the inconsistent performance of his charge b h APALACHEE.
