Jockey Arul J.H, the rider of STARS ABOVE was questioned in presence of trainer Mr. Arjun Mangalorkar. The trainer stated that he had asked the Jockey to take a good jump, maintain a good position and do his best in the straight but after jumping out the horse was keen and the rider allowed the horse to drop its position and further added that he also dropped his hands in the final stages of the race. The Jockey stated that he tried to be up with the filed but he could not do so and after that his mount was hanging out after entering the straight. The horse was subjected to veterinary examination but no abnormality was reported. However, the stipes gave the benefit of doubt to the rider and concerned. He was informed that a similar manner of riding would entail him being reported to the stewards for appropriate action.

Jockey M. Mark, the rider of ENGLISH BAY was fined Rs.3,000/- for the excessive use of the whip on his mount during the race (1st infringement).

ENGLISH BAY (M. Mark) sustained superficial gum injury.
