Racing Incidents

On the way to the start, EATON SQUARE (P. Trevor) dislodged its rider and bolted off towards the winning post and was apprehended there. Thereafter, the gelding was examined at the starting gates by the Club’s Sr. V.O., who certified him fit to race. As per the norms, Trainer M. Narredu was contacted and had requested to allow the gelding to participate in the race.
 
BIG RED (Akshay Kumar, dr.7) jumped out slowly losing about 5 lengths at the start. Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
 
At the start, SHE IS ON FIRE (S. Zervan, dr.5) was marginally slow to begin.
 
Approaching the 300 metres, STAR GALLERY (App. Haridas Gore) shifted in and went across IMPUNITY (Neeraj Rawal) who had to be steadied. After questioning, App. Haridas Gore has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
 
After the race, Jockey C. S. Jodha (KIMIKO) stated that at about the 300 metres due to his close proximity to STAR GALLERY (App. Haridas Gore) who was racing on his inside his whip came in contact with App. Haridas Gore which resulted in loss of whip. The Stipendiary Stewards are looking into the same and a report will be submitted shortly.
 
The Equine Hospital reported that BIG RED was found to have sore – left eye.
