PERFECT GENTLEMAN arrived late to the start thereby delaying the proceedings of the race. As Tr. Sabeel Shariff had been warned and fined earlier for late arrival of his charges to the start, he has now been fined a sum of Rs. 5,000/-.

HELLBLAZER and SUN GOD were slow to begin.

Tr. Sabeel Shariff when questioned regarding the riding instructions to Jockey Imran Chisty on his charge PERFECT GENTLEMAN, stated that he had instructed the Jockey to place the colt in 3rd / 4th position on jumping out and to do his best in the straight. On questioning Jockey Imran Chisty corroborated the Trainer’s statements. The Jockey further stated that from about the 600 metres when he asked his mount for an effort, the colt did not respond to his urgings as expected. The Veterinary Officer was requested to examine the colt and submit his report.

On the morning of Wednesday, 20th March, 2024 PERFECT GENTLEMAN was examined by the Veterinary Officer and found to be lame on right fore. Tr. Sabeel Shariff was advised not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.

Jockey Nikhil Naidu, the rider of HELLBLAZER, reported that in the last 150 metres of the race the breast plate of his mount snapped and thereafter his mount wobbled, as such he eased it up. The Veterinary Officer was requested to examine the gelding and submit his report. On veterinary examination the gelding was found to be trotting sound.

Jockey Vinay Jaiswal, the rider of SUN GOD, reported that his mount lacked initial speed, was hanging out for the greater part of the race and did not respond to his urgings from the bend, was noted.

Jockey Imran Chisty, the rider of PERFECT GENTLEMAN, was fined a sum of Rs.3,000/- for excessive use of the whip (1st infringement).

The Veterinary Officer reported that SEPTIMUS SEVERUS returned with a mouth injury.
