Racing Incidents
JUST REWARD (K. Nazil, dr.6) was fractious at the gates, reared up and got his fore legs caught up in the adjoining draw no.5. The horse was taken out and examined by the Sr. V.O and found to have a gum injury, however, certified the gelding fit to race. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race. CHARMING STAR (Prashant P. Dhebe, dr.11) lost about two lengths at the start. At the start, TANHAIYAAN (Amyn Merchant, dr.4) reared up as the start was effected resulting in dislodging its rider. Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race. At the start, MILLI (P. S. Kaviraj, dr.5) jumped outwards throwing its head up at the same time KHALEESI (A. Sandesh, dr.7) leaned inwards due to which JUST REWARD (K. Nazil, dr.6) drawn between them was tightened for room and had to be checked. Soon after the start, CHAMPAGNE SMILE (App. N. Bhosale) shifted in and went across ALPHA GENE (S. A. Amit) who had to be steadied. Passing the 300 metres, CHAMPAGNE SMILE (App. N.Bhosale) shifted in under the use of whip thereby tightening and inconveniencing KHALEESI (A. Sandesh) along the rails causing it to check and change course. After questioning and not being satisfied, App. N. Bhosale has been suspended for two race days i.e. on 10th and 15th August 2024, for careless riding (permitted to ride work / mock race). In the final stages of the race, KHALEESI (A. Sandesh) leaned in thereby tightening OTELLO (R. Shelar). Jockey A. Sandesh has been fined Rs.2,000/-. After the race, KHALEESI and JUST REWARD were trotted and found to be sound and TANHAIYAAN was found to have a gum injury. The Equine Hospital reported that WARRIOR PRINCE had left eye injury with ulcer (sore). The Equine Hospital reported that ALPHA GENE had right eye injury (sore). The Equine Hospital reported that MILLI had both eye injuries with ulcer.
