During routine Veterinary examination on 21/09/24 at 8.31am BROOK MAGIC was observed to have Pyrexia associated with Anorexia.Trainer B.Suresh was asked to get his charge certified fit by the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting next with.

DELIGHTED was presented wrongly for pre race identification , the matter was reported and the filly was permitted to be withdrawn.

Incident into the routine identification of horses by the Chief Veterinary Officer.

Incident into the routine identification of horse dk b filly 3 year DELIGHTED in the 3rd Race,Race No 22,Div-I The Be My Guest Handicap.

It was brought to the attention of the Chief Stipendiary Steward before the 3rd race during routine identification that the microchip number is not matching with that of dk b f 3 yr old DELIGHTED.When checked for marking to confirm the said horse it was found to be incorrect and not matching with dk b f 3yr(DELIGHTED).

Subsequently Horse no 8 dkb f 3 yr old DELIGHTED was withdrawn. Further an enquiry was initiated in this matter.

At the start,DAKSHIN VIJAY (Koshi Kumar drawn -3) jumped onwards to AVANTADOR (R Manish drawn -4) causing the latter to lose its footing who had to be steadied. Jockey Koshi Kumar, was cautioned.

After the race Jockey C A Brisson, the rider of ROYAL CHIVALRY was called and questioned regarding his riding on his mount. He stated his instructions were to be up there and do his best,he said the gelding does not have much speed and need longer distance, when pointed out where was his efforts in positioning, also his riding in the straight. Not being satisfied with the explanation he was asked to meet the Stewards Of the Club after the last race.

Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner CROWN DRIVE.

A Stewards Enquiry was held after the last race into the riding of Jockey C A Brisson on his mount B G 3 yr “ROYAL CHIVALRY ” in race No.22 –THE BE MY GUEST HANDICAP, run on Saturday 21st September 2024 in the Weighing room , Madras Race Club.

ORDER OF THE STEWARDS

Jockey C A Brisson was called in and questioned by the Stewards about his ride on b g 3 yr,“ROYAL CHIVALRY”.Jockey C A Brisson stated his instructions were to be up there and do his best, he also informed the gelding fly jumped at the start and said the gelding does not have much speed and needs longer distance. The race replay was shown in multiple angles and was pointed out by the Stewards why he has not made enough effort to improve after the start was effected. He replied if he allows a free run the gelding stops and when held back he gives the best, he also mentioned the race was fast being five and half furlong. Back view of the race replay was shown and it was pointed to the Jockey where was his effort in positioning thus placing his mount to a disadvantage position, not keeping up with the field and not making any move till the final furlong in the straight. The Stewards informed Jockey C A Brisson , if he had put in better efforts he would have finished much closer than running fourth, and the outcome of the Race Result would have been different. It was evident in the race replays that Jockey has not ridden to the best of his ability and not given the horse any chance in the race .Not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey C A Brisson. After deliberating the matter, the Stewards decided to suspend Jockey's C A Brisson under Rule no 159 (b) of the Madras Race Club rules of racing read under “The rider of every horse shall take all reasonable and permissible measures throughout the race to ensure that, his horse is given full opportunity to win or to obtain the best possible place in the field” and by the Calendar Notification for unsatisfactory riding on his mount b g 3 yr "ROYAL CHIVALRY" in race no 22 run on Saturday 21st September 2024 and decided to suspend his jockey's license for Four Race Days, effectively on the following dates:- 5th October 2024, 12th October 2024, 19th October 2024 and 26th October 2024.
 
He was also severely warned to be more careful on his future rides.

He was permitted to ride work and was informed about his “Right to Appeal”.
