An Enquiry has been opened into the running and riding of MAHADEVI ridden by App Jockey Ram Nandan Manjhi trained by Fahad Khan.

In connection with the captioned subject, the Stewards of the Club at meeting held on Monday, December 16th 2024 after the last race having heard the submissions made by App Jockey Ram Nandan Manjhi , Trainer Fahad Khan who also lodged a written complaint against App Jockey Ram Nandan Manjhi also the Chief Stipendiary Steward having viewed the video recording of the race in question and previous runs of the Ch filly "MAHADEVI" and having

deliberated the matter at length, the Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by App Jockey Ram Nandan Manjhi

In that, App Jockey Ram Nandan Manjhi said that due to interference received soon after the start he could not position his mount "MAHADEVI” as per the instructions of his trainer where to be in 3rd 4th position and do his best. When shown the replay that he had gagged the filly he informed she through her head up when the start was effected and was riding this filly for the first time when shown the replay of various angles where was his effort coming into the straight . App Ram Nandan Manjhi didn't have a plausible answer except attributing the interference soon after the start. Where he said because the interference at the start his filly lost all her chances. When shown by the Chief Stipendiary Steward that he gagged her and there was no interference from either on his inside/outside and his riding in the straight.

The Stewards after submissions made by App Ram Nandan Manjhi and Trainer Fahad Khan that App Jockey Ram Nandan Manjhi gagged the filly soon after the start not let her go and preserve with his mount, thereby placing the filly at a disadvantage in the race thus, impacting the final outcome of the race.

The Stewards of the Club after hearing submissions by the Jockey and Trainer in conjunction with the Chief Stipendiary Steward keeping in mind "MAHADEVI " in her career as run 7 times till date still being maiden has a habit of throwing her head up also App Jockey Ram Nandan Manjhi riding for the first time the filly , she running under the charge of Trainer Fahad Khan for the first time Madras Racing Season keeping in mind all the above took a lenient view and decided to suspend App Jockey Ram Nandan Manjhi's licence for 4 race days (December 25, 31st, January 1st and 13th ) for "UNSATISFACTORY RIDING" on his mount "MAHADEVI" also severely reprimanded to make more determined efforts on his mounts failing which he will be liable for severe disciplinary action as deemed fit.

App Jockey Ram Nandan Manjhi has the right to appeal.
