Racing Incidents

Tr. Rutherford Alford was once again warned for failing to present himself in the saddling enclosure and paddock prior to the running of his charge LUCRETIUS.

KIKATA was slow to begin.

Jockey P Tejeshwar (PAL CHA, drawn 3) reported that he received an interference when HOLY GOLD (R Shelar, drawn 1) shifted outwards soon after the start, thereafter the gelding did not show any interest in the race and finished the race detached from the field. Tr. B Rajender Reddy was advised not to accept with his charge PAL CHA until it was capable of a better performance. Jockey R Shelar was reprimanded to exercise greater control over his mounts in future.

HOLY GOLD dropped out of contention from about the 800 metres and finished the race detached from the field. Tr. Dr. Anil Kumar was advised not to accept with his charge until shown to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a mock race.

Tr. Patrick Quinn and Jockey A Sandesh when questioned regarding the running and riding of FORTUNE WARRIOR, the Trainer stated that his instructions to the Jockey were to take a good jump and ride out his mount to his best. The Jockey corroborated the Trainer’s instructions and stated that he has ridden the colt to the best of his ability. The Stipendiary Stewards not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey A Sandesh, decided to fine him a sum of Rs. 50,000/- for incompetent riding in that he failed to infuse adequate riding effort on his mount in the last 150 metres of the race. The Jockey was informed of his right to appeal. Tr. Patrick Quinn was warned to ensure that his charges are run and ridden in such a manner that leaves no room for query.

The Veterinary Officer also reported that :-

(a)    LUCRETIUS returned lame on its right fore. Tr. Rutherford Alford was informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.

(b)    FORTUNE WARRIOR returned with right hind pastern injury and at the request of Tr. Patrick Quinn, post race endoscopy of FORTUNE WARRIOR was done on 21st December, 2024 and the colt was found to be suffering from EIPH-Gr 2.
