MALAKHI was slow to begin losing approximately 3-4 lengths at the start.

Jockey R Vaibhav (INTO THE STORM) reported that his mount was racing keenly passing the 1000 meters, he had to switch out to avoid running into the heels of the front runners and in the process inconvenienced ITALIAN GOLD on his outside, was noted.

Tr. Shyam S Habbu, deputising for Tr. Aman A Hussain when questioned regarding his riding instructions to Jockey P Trevor on his charge MALAKHI, stated that he had instructed the Jockey to place his mount in 4th or 5th position after jump out, keep up with the field and to do his best. On questioning Jockey P Trevor corroborated the Trainer’s instructions. The jockey further stated that he could not position his mount as instructed due to the mare being slowly off from the gates and he did his best in the straight. The explanations tendered have been noted.

Jockey P Trevor (MALAKHI) was fined a sum of Rs. 5000/- for the excessive use of the whip (2nd infringement).

The Veterinary Officer reported that :-

a)    TRUE FAITH returned lame on right fore.

b)    LAURUS returned bleeding from its nostrils.

Trs. Neil Darashah and Paramjit S Jubbal were informed not to accept with their respective charges until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.
