BORN TO BE SPOILT (Imran Chisty) was slow to begin losing about 3 – 4 lengths at the start, thereafter the gelding trailed the field throughout the race. Jockey Imran Chisty when questioned, stated that the gelding never raised a fluent gallop and requested that his mount be checked. Tr. Rutherford Alford was advised not to accept with his charge until shown to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a mock race. ` PRIMO VICTORIA jumped awkwardly from its stall. AMADEUS (Kirtish Bhagat) dropped out of contention from about 600 metres and finished detached last. Tr. Rutherford alford was advised not to accept with his charge until capable of a better performance. CRISTALDO, PRIMO VICTORIA and SUN GOD drifted to the outer portion of the race track on entering the straight. Tr. Vikash Jaiswal when questioned regarding the improved performance of his charge SUN GOD as compared to its previous run in Race No. 69 – THE CAVALRY CUP held on 17th January, 2025, stated that “I would like to explain the improved performance of my charge SUN GOD that he was carrying 50kgs and rest horses were giving me 8, 10 kgs and 2400 mt race, last few runs I saw that because of age he is not quick enough in short distance so I decided to put him in longer distance and take a last chance, his rating was 5. I thought if he doesn't perform then I will retire him after this run but my thoughts clicked so he won and also I would like to add one more point that the other horses’ performances were not good, except CRISTALDO”. His explanations were noted. Jockey Arman (PRIMO VICTORIA) Khan was fined a sum of Rs. 5000/- for excessive use of the whip (2nd offence). a) PRIMO VICTORIA retuned lame on right fore. b) BORN TO BE SPOILT returned lame on left hind. Trs. Sabeel Shariff and Rutherford Alford were informed not to accept with their respective charges until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer. |
