Racing Incidents

MIDNIGHT BLUE and CRISTALDO were slow to begin.

Tr. Rutherford Alford when questioned regarding the improved performance of his charge GIMMLER as compared to its previous performances during the ensuing season, stated the following :-

a)    The gelding was running after a break of more than a month and a half. The horse started working well and as such I could better prepare him for this race.
b)    Change of equipment i.e., BLINKERS & CROSS NOSE BAND were removed which suited the gelding.
c)    In my opinion this race had a more mediocre set of runners as compared to the other Division which had a tougher set of contenders, it was fortunate that my runner faced a weaker set in this race.
d)    The Jockey declared to ride him on this occasion was a better calibre as compared to its previous runs.
e)    For the above reasons I gave my horse a good probability of winning and I am happy with the result. His explanations were noted.
