Immediately on jumping out of the gates SEA WARRIOR (App Arman Khan, drawn 4) was momentarily inconvenienced when ASIAN ROCKET (C Alford, drawn 3) jumped awkwardly ‘outwards’.

Approaching the 800 metres ASIAN ROCKET (C Alford) making progress along the rails was checked by its rider when COMBINED OPERATION (Shezad Khan) momentarily shifted ‘inwards’.  Jockey Shezad Khan was shown the CCTV replay of the race and reprimanded for changing ground when not adequately clear of the other runner.

Jockey Md. Imran, the rider of ch g TOUGH ONE, when afforded an opportunity to explain the running of his mount stated that he was instructed to be positioned 5^th/6^th in the initial stages of the race and thereafter  to gradually improve his position.  However, despite his best efforts the gelding did not respond to his urgings during the middle and concluding stages of the race.  Tr. Shafiq Khan when questioned corroborated the instructions and could give no plausible explanation regarding the poor performance of his charge.  The gelding was impounded for veterinary and analytical examinations.  The Sr. Veterinary Officer reported that on examination no ailment was noticed.  Tr. Shafiq Khan was advised to keep his charge under observation and report ailment, if any.
