At the request of Tr. Jasbir Singh, b g ROYAL SAGA, a declared starter in the above race, was examined by the Veterinary Officer on the morning ofSaturday, 22^nd September, 2012 and found to have developed painful swelling on left eye.  Under the circumstances the gelding was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds.  Tr. Jasbir Singh was informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.

PETALOID (C Alford) travelling along the rails under pressure drifted  ‘outwards’ during the final stages of the race. 

Tr. Vijay Singh when afforded an opportunity to explain the improved performance of his charge br g PATALOID as compared to its previous run in Race 88 & 34 of the Calcutta Monsoon Meeting where it finished unplaced stated that he had given similar instructions in all its runs, however, in its earlier two runs when drawn 1, the gelding had been hampered by the crowding of the field but for which it would have performed much better.  The two races in question were viewed repeatedly by the Stipendiary Stewards and his explanations were noted.
