SELF DIRECTED (Shailesh Shinde) reared up as the start was effected thereby losing considerable ground at the start.  Tr. Vijay Singh was advised to give his charge adequate gate practice before accepting with it again.

In the final stages of the race SELF DIRECTED (Shailesh Shinde) was momentarily inconvenienced when AMERICAN PIE (N S Parmar) under pressure shifted ‘inwards’.

BALLET BELLE (I Khan) finished off the race detached from the field.  Tr. E Bhungard was informed not to accept with his charge until it was capable of a better performance.

Jockey Shailesh Shinde, the rider of b g SELF DIRECTED, when afforded an opportunity to explain the running and his riding of his mount stated that he was instructed to take the gelding on a start to finish mission.  However, as the start was effected, the gelding reared up causing him to momentarily lose his balance and further it caused him to momentarily drop one of his reins.  Thereafter, the gelding ran freely and he was able to position his mount in the race as was instructed by the trainer.  He added that in hind sight he may have allowed the gelding  to run too freely in the middle stages of the race.  Tr. Vijay Singh when questioned corroborated the instructions as stated by the rider and was of the opinion that the gelding was allowed to run too freely in the middle stages of the race.  The Stipendiary Stewards while noting the explanations advised  Jockey Shailesh Shinde to report to the Jockey Coach Jockey P Alford for appropriate guidance.
