Racing Incidents
EROS (App Vikash Tamang) which was fractious in its stall was slow to begin. Jockey C Alford, the rider of AMERICAN PIE, when afforded an opportunity to explain the running of his mount stated that he was instructed to lead the field from the start. However, approaching the 600 metres he was marginally inconvenienced by RIVER PRIDE (Md Islam) which was making progress on his outside and thereafter despite his best efforts the gelding failed to accelerate. His explanation was noted. Jockey Melvyn Maseyk, the rider of SECRET WHISPERS, was fined a sum of Rs. 5,000/- for the indiscriminate and excessive use of the whip. The Jockey was further cautioned that repetition would entail him to severe disciplinary action.
