On leaving the parade ring going towards the start b f WONDER LIKE YOU (N S Parmar) was examined by the Veterinary Officer and found to be lame on right fore. Under the circumstances the filly was permitted to be withdrawn before coming under Starter’s orders. Tr. Shafiq Khan was informed not to accept with his charge until passed fit by the Veterinary Officer.

DESERT FOX (Sahanawaz) and TORINO (P Trevor) were fractious while being stalled.

Jockey C Alford when afforded an opportunity to explain the running of his mount MAGICAL ABILITY stated that he was instructed to settle his mount in mid bunch during the early and middle stages of the race. However, as the filly was racing keenly there was a continuous struggle between them for her to be positioned in mid bunch. His statement was noted by the Stipendiary Stewards.

Approaching the 900 metres AMANDUS (D K Ashish) was momentarily carried wide by FERVENT QUEST (Shailesh Shinde) which was travelling on the rails and shifted ‘outwards’ by its jockey to avoid clipping the heels of front runners.

Passing the distance post AMANDUS (D K Ashish) drifted ‘outwards’ when placed under pressure.

The Veterinary Officer reported that FERVENT QUEST returned with a cut injury on left hind.
