Racing Incidents

HIGHLY EXPLOSIVE (Nelson Maseyk) was fractious while being stalled.

Jockey Nelson Maseyk, the rider of HIGHLY EXPLOSIVE, when afforded an opportunity to explain the running of his mount stated that he was instructed to settle the horse wherever possible and to do his best in the straight but not to push too hard as the gelding was running after a long lay due to a previous injury. On being questioned Tr. Vikash Jaiswal corroborated the jockey’s statements. The Stipendiary Stewards after reviewing the CCTV replay of the race and not being satisfied with the statements of the Jockey and the Trainer decided to :-

a) Fine Jockey Nelson Maseyk a sum of Rs. 2,500/- for failing to infuse adequate vigour in his riding.

b) Fine Tr. Vikash Jaiswal a sum of Rs. 2,500/- for the unsatisfactory running of his charge.
