As Jockey Russell Xaviers was declared medically unfit to ride, permission was granted to trainer Mr. Rutherford Alford to declare Sk Zaffar Riaz to ride his charge PASSIONATE. However, as Jockey Sk Zaffar Riaz was unable to ride at the declared weight, permission was granted to Tr. Rutherford Alford to withdraw PASSIONATE from the race as no other suitable jockey was available.

FASHION ICON (N S Parmar) was fractious while being stalled.

SECRET GLOSS (Vikash Tamang) was slow to begin.

Approaching the 700 metres LEXI (Arman Khan) was shifted ‘outwards’ when running into the heels of FASHION ICON (N S Parmar). SECRET GLOSS (Vikash Tamang) travelling behind LEXI had to take evasive action.

Trainer Mr. H S Bath when afforded an opportunity to explain the improved performance of his charge SECRET GLOSS as compared to its previous run in Race No. 162 where it finished off board, stated that :-

a) The mare was running in the company of horses which had performed more or less similar to it in their previous runs.

b) He had instructed the jockey to position his mount in 3rd/4th position and to do his best in the straight. The same instructions were given in its previous race i.e. 162 when ridden by Jockey Shezad Khan. However, in that race Jockey Shezad Khan who was returning to the saddle after a long lay off due to a serious injury was unable to control the mare and allowed her to gallop freely on the outside of the field.

c) Other than this he was unable to give any plausible explanation. The Stipendiary Stewards while noting his statements informed the trainer to ensure that his charges run with a degree of consistency between their runs failing which he would be reported to the Stewards for appropriate action.
