COMBINED OPERATION (Md Imran) and LOMBARDO (C Alford) were fractious in their respective stalls.

Immediately after the running of the race an enquiry was held with particular reference to the fall of MOONLIT SKY (B. Nikhil) and CARNIVAL POINT (P.S. Chouhan) approaching the 600 metre marker. Jockey B Nikhil on being interviewed stated that the fall of his mount was accidental and no blame could be attached to any rider. CARNIVAL POINT which at the time of the fall of MOONLIT SKY was positioned directly behind ran into the fallen horse and fell. The Stipendiary Stewards being satisfied that both falls were accidental, ordered the White Cone to be hoisted. The Sr. Veterinary Officer on examination reported that b m MOONLIT SKY sustained a pelvic bone fracture and was put down on humanitarian ground. b m CARNIVAL POINT returned to the unsaddling enclosure riderless. Jockey B Nikhil sustained minor injuries and was declared unfit to fulfill his engagements for the day. However, Jockey P S Chouhan was sent to the Hospital for further medical management.
