M/s D M David and Vikash Jaiswal, trainers of SCARTELLA and ANTONIUS MAXIMUS respectively, were fined a sum of Rs. 5,000/- each for their carelessness in presenting their charges in the parade ring after having interchanged their respective saddles. Subsequently the horses were removed from the parade ring and allowed to return with their correct saddles.

ADRESTIA (Shailesh Shinde) which was fractious while being stalled was slow to begin.

CITY HEIGHTS (App P Tejeshwar) and EL CID (Imran Chisty) were slow to begin.

Immediately after running of the race Tr Vijay Singh expressed his dissatisfaction to the Stipendiary Stewards over the handling of his charge ADRESTIA by Jockey Shailesh Shinde. Mr. Vijay Singh stated that : -

- He had instructed the jockey to place his mount in 4 th position in the early and middle stages of the race and to do his best thereafter.
- He was not satisfied with :-
a) That his charge was slow to begin from its stall.
b) That the rider after being slow to begin had continuously urged his mount to improve its position since the jockey was of the knowledge that the filly was not appreciative of being continuously urged in the early stages.
c) The placement of his charge by the rider while negotiating the bend i.e., on the outside of the field.
d) The explanation of the rider for allowing the filly to shift ‘inwards’ on entering the straight.
e) The dropping of the whip by the rider approaching the distance post.

Jockey Shailesh Shinde on questioning stated that :-
a) He had been instructed to be positioned 4th in the early and middle stages of the race.
b) On being slow to begin he urged the filly to improve to the 4th position as instructed by the trainer as he was of the opinion that had he not done so he would have been then questioned for failing to make an attempt to ride to his instructions.
c) As he was continuously trying to improve his position it was necessary for him while negotiating the bend to make his run on the outside of the field.
d) On entering the straight his mount shifted ‘inwards’ on being struck with the whip.
e) Thereafter he accidentally dropped his whip and it was not done intentionally.

The Stipendiary Stewards after taking into account the statements of Mr. Shailesh Shinde and Mr. Vijay Singh decided to continue with the enquiry and the results will be announced at a later date.
