LEXI (Arman Khan) and SAUDAGAR (Nelson Maseyk) were slow to begin.

An objection was lodged by Jockey P Trevor, the rider of AAMERICAN AGATTA placed 3rd by the Judge against Jockey Afzal Khan, the rider of ROYAL BRUTE placed 2nd and Jockey Neeraj Rawal, the rider of ARABIAN SKY placed 1st on the grounds of “while passing the 300 metres marker and picking up my pace, ROYAL BRUTE came onto me and at the same time ARABIAN SKY also shifted in causing me interference, hence I had to stop riding my mount and lost the race”. The Stewards after interviewing Jockeys P Trevor, Neeraj Rawal and Afzal Khan, viewing the CCTV replay of the race and taking into consideration the opinion expressed by the Stipendiary Stewards decided to over rule the objection and ordered the Judge’s placings to remain unaltered. The “All Clear” signal was hoisted. At a subsequent enquiry held by the Stipendiary Stewards Jockey Neeraj Rawal was fined a sum of Rs. 15,000/- for careless riding in that he made no adequate effort to maintain a straight course during the final stages of the race thereby allowing his mount to shift ‘in’ and inconvenience ROYAL BRUTE which in turn shifted ‘in’ onto AAMERICAN AGATTA travelling along the rails which had to be checked by its rider. Further Jockey Neeraj Rawal was advised that in future he should make every effort to keep his mounts on a straight course failing which he would be dealt with more severely.
