Racing Incidents

ROMANTIC SOCIETY (Md Azharuddin) was slow to begin.

DIAMOND CREEK (Md Islam) which was fractious in its stall was slow to begin.

When afforded an opportunity to explain the poor performance of his charge b f DIAMOND CREEK as compared to its previous run in Race No. 74 of the just concluded Calcutta Monsoon Meeting held on 6th September, 2017, Tr. Bharath Singh stated that in its last outing the filly had run in the lower class and that the filly was not a very sound animal as it had suffered from tendon problems for which it had been treated on a number of occasions. On questioning Jockey Md. Islam stated that he was well positioned in the early stages of the race, however, in spite of his urgings the filly did not respond and finished off the race last. The Stipendiary Stewards while noting the explanations tendered by Mr. Bharath Singh advised him to ensure that horses under his care run consistently failing which he would be taken to task for the ‘in’ and ‘out’ running of his charges.

The Veterinary Officer reported that TOUGH ENOUGH and QUEEN’S COMMAND returned bleeding from both nostrils. Trs. Javed Khan and Rutherford Alford were informed not to accept with their respective charges until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.
