ADRIATIC SEA (App P Vikram) was slow to begin. Tr. Farley Rodrigues, who is currently indisposed, when given an opportunity to explain the poor performance of his charge b g ADRIATIC SEA (App P Vikram) as compared to its previous run in Race No. 90 held on 15th September, 2018 sent the following text :- “In answer to your query into the poor performance of my horse ADRIATIC SEA on 25th Sept.18, I would like to state that the instructions given to app. P.Vikram were to ride him the same way when he had won earlier, i.e. to take a good break from the gate and if he could, without fighting for the lead take over the running and ride in a supporting manner till 350 m. then ride all-out in the straight. In the race, he was a bit slow to take off, and then tried to adhere to my instructions, ill judged the pace, hence the poor run of the horse. I had scolded him after the race on his poor decision to keep to instructions, after being tardy at the start. The same can be verified from Mr.H.BATH (deputizing Trainer)”. The Stipendiary Stewards noted his explanations for future reference. |
