MOUNT RENO was fractious inside its stall.

Jockey Nikhil Naidu, the rider of LAGERTHA when questioned, stated that his mount was playing up inside the gate and was slow to begin as such he could not place it in a better position. Thereafter he rode out his mount in the straight but could do no better than finish 9th in the race. Jockey Nikhil Naidu was informed that he was being given the benefit of a doubt only because the mare had returned lame and was warned to ride his mount to complete advantage in future. Tr. Patrick Quinn was also advised to ensure that his charges are run in such manner that leaves no room for query.

Jockey Vinay Jaiswal, the rider of SHIVALIK SILK was fined a sum of Rs. 2,500/- for carelessly shifting outwards passing the 300 metres causing interference to LIGHTNING CHARLIE and further carrying MAGIC MOMENT out with him.

Jockey Vinay Jaiswal (SHIVALIK SILK) reported that his saddle slipped in the final straight.    Tr. Vikash Jaiswal was fined a sum of Rs. 2,000/- for the same.

Jockey P Surya, the rider of LIGHTNING CHARLIE, reported loss of whip passing the 300 metres.

Tr. N Ravinder Singh when questioned regarding the improved performance of his charge HASHTAG as compared to its previous outing in Race No. 108 held on 1st March, 2023, stated that :-

1)    HASHTAG's previous win was over 1200 meters in class 4 in the Hyderabad Monson season 2022 at the rating of 42.
 
2)    Since relocating to Kolkata HASHTAG was rated as a class 3 Horse and I tried him in Race No 75, 92, 95 and 108.

3)    All his previous runs were races for class 3, where he found the opposition to be superior.

4)    In his last start in Race No. 108 he raced over 1400 meters in class 3, however in Race No 114 the horse won over 1200 in class 4 after being demoted, which is the suitable distance and class for this particular horse.

5)    I declared the Jockey claiming 1 kg allowance which helped the cause of my horse.

6)    HASTHAG dead heated with MOUNT RENO which was unplaced and finished last in his previous outing.

7)    I was pleasantly surprised with the win of HASHTAG although I did not not fancy his chances for the above mentioned reasons.

8)    The close finish which was a dead heat confirms the correct Handicapping to equalize HASHTAG's chance in this particular race.

His explanations were noted.

The Veterinary Officer reported that :-

a)    LAGERTHA returned lame on right fore.

b)    D SALAMROCKYBHAI returned lame on right hind.

Trs. Patrick Quinn and Sabeel Shariff were informed not to accept with their respective charges until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.
