Racing Incidents

ANGEL LIGHT and SWIFT LADY were slow to begin.

Jockey Arman Khan, the rider of ANGEL LIGHT, when questioned regarding the riding of his mount stated that “I was instructed to take a good jump, give the mare some time to settle down in a position wherever possible and to do my best. However, the mare was trying to hang out in the straight and I did my best”. On questioning Tr. Sabeel Shariff corroborated the Jockey’s statement. However, to a query whether he was satisfied with the riding efforts of Jockey Arman Khan on ANGEL LIGHT in the straight, the Trainer could give no plausible explanation. Not being satisfied with the explanations tendered, Tr. Sabeel Shariff and Jockey Arman Khan were fined a sum of Rs. 50,000/- each for the unsatisfactory running and riding of b m ANGEL LIGHT. The Trainer was further warned to ensure that his charges are run and ridden in such a manner that leaves no room for query.
