Racing Incidents

On the morning of Tuesday, 16th January, 2024 MACCHIATO was examined by the Veterinary Officer and found to be lame on left fore. Under the circumstances the colt was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds. Tr. Aashay Doctor was informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.

Tr. Rutherford Alford was fined a sum of Rs. 2,000/- for the late arrival of his charge SWIFT LADY thereby inordinately delaying the start of the race. The Trainer was further advised to ensure that his charges arrive on time in future.

SOUL MUSIC, KIKATA and THALAMES were slow to begin.

BANKSY dropped out of the race from about the 500 metres and finished the race detached from the field. On the morning of 17th January, 2024 BANKSY was examined by the Veterinary Officer and found to be lame on left fore. Tr. Shafiq Khan was informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.

Jockey N S Parmar, the rider of ROCKET MAN, was fined a sum of Rs. 3,000/- for excessive use of the whip (1st infringement).
