An objection was lodged by Jockey Malcolm Kharadi, rider of GOSSIP (placed 4^th), against Jockey A.M.Tograllu, rider of MARAUDER, placed 1^st). The reason being, at  800 metres, MARAUDER cut across him very sharply due to which he was totally unbalanced and had to check his mount severely, which cost him a certain place.

After considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned, in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards  and relying on their judgment, the Stewards decided to over-rule the objection.

The Stewards after the last race interviewed Jockey A.M.Tograllu in the above connection and having considered the submissions made by him and having viewed the video recording of Race No.158, the Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey A.M.Tograllu. However, the Stewards decided to give him the benefit of the doubt for the charge of “dangerous riding” and held him guilty of careless riding on his mount MARAUDER in the above race. In that, passing 800 metres he shifted in sharply thereby causing interference to GOSSIP (Malcolm Kharadi) who in turn shifted in and caused severe interference to ZAAR (Shrikant Kamble) who was racing along the rails and lost position. Taking an overall view, the Stewards decided to suspend his Jockey’s license w.e.f. 9^th October, 2011 to 15^th October, 2011 (both days inclusive) (permitted to ride work/mock race). Further, he was informed that the Stewards took a lenient view this time and he was warned to be more careful in the future.

After the race, GOSSIP, WESTERN CHALLENGE and  ZAAR were found to be sound.
