Racing Incidents
Trainer Karthik G. and Jockey A.Sandesh were questioned regarding the running riding FLASHING CHIEFTAIN as the Jockey was observed to have made his move late in the straight and lost the race by a narrow margin. The instructions were to sit behind since this was a 3-horse race. The Trainer added that the Jockey had ridden according to his instructions and he was satisfied with the Jockey’s riding. The Jockey confirmed the Instructions and stated that he followed QUASAR throughout the race since that was the danger horse and he kept following QUASAR as it improved in the straight and then he made his challenge. Not being satisfied with the explanation of the Jockey, the matter was reported to the Stewards as the Jockey was observed to have waited for too long in the straight to make his move. Consideration of the matter was deferred to the next meeting of the Stewards.
