Racing Incidents

Consequent to the Jockey Arvind Joshi having been declared Medically unfit to ride, the Stewards permitted Jockey K. Anil to be substituted on PROOF.

An objection lodged by Jockey Suraj Narredu (PALM SPRINGS) placed 2nd by the judge against Jockey Imran Chisty (AZAIBA) the winner that “ at about 5 furlongs he came in sharply and cut across whereby my mount clipped the heels of the winner thereby my filly lost her balance and took time to regain the lost stride, that cost me a certain race” was overruled by the Stewards. The Stewards, however, fined Jockey Imran Chisty (AZIBA) a sum of Rs.10,000/- for shifting in sharply at about the 1000 mtrs when there was no sufficient room, in the process causing interference to PALM SPRINGS (Suraj Narredu) and CRISTIANO (P. Sai Kumar).

Explanation of Jockey M.F. Ali Khan  (POWER PLANET) that his mount did not raise a fluent gallop throughout the race inspite of his best efforts, noted for future reference.  

Trainer L.V.R. Deshmukh was questioned re: poor performance of his charge RACING AHEAD who finished off board, for which Trainer replied that the App. Jockey could not handle the gelding.  The Trainer further added that the gelding got injured in the race and that could be also the reason for his poor performance and the gelding is being treated for  the same by the Veterinary Doctors.
