Racing Incidents

STARWALKER (Praveen Gaddam) injured himself badly in the gates, as such the gelding was permitted to be withdrawn before coming under starters orders, SSC revoked.

An objection lodged by the Jockey S. Zervan, rider of GOOD CONNECTION, placed 2nd against Jockey B R Kumar (MARK MY DAY) winner that "  around the bend the winner has squeezed me thereby taking my ground and I  have been forced to check and drop back losing about 3 lengths.  Again in the straight, the winner had kept an erratic course due to which I could not come from inside and forced to come from outside.  After that he again moved out and came onto me forcing me to check once again losing a lot of momentum and again as my filly makes up ground and he has taken me out in the final stages due to which I lost a lot of ground and lost a certain race by half a length” was overruled by the Stewards and the judges placings remained unchanged.

However, the Stewards fined Jockey B.R. Kumar a sum of Rs.10,000/- for shifting out in the final stages of the race and causing inconvenience to GOOD CONNECTION (S. Zervan).
