ILANGO (A A Vikrant) was denied a clear run soon after the start due to crowding of runners racing in front and thereafter the gelding trailed the field throughout the race and finished the course at the rear end of the field. Trainer D. Netto was advised for a better performance in future.

Explanation of App. Santosh Raj N R (PRECIOUS GIFT) that due to fast initial pace he was unable to position his mount well up with the field in the initial stages of the race and in the straight he he did his best but accidentally lost his whip at about the 150 mtrs was not accepted and the App. was fined a sum of Rs.5,000/- for losing whip at a crucial juncture of the race thereby placing his mount at a disadvantage in the final stages of the race.

Explanation of Jockey Mukesh Kumar (WIND SPRITE) that his instructions were to sit close with front runners which he tried to follow until entering the straight and thereafter when asked for an effort, his mount shortened his strides and dropped back in the final stages of the race inspite of his best efforts. Trainer L D Silva while confirming the above added that he had no plausible explanation to offer with regard to his charges poor performance was not accepted and the Trainer was fined a sum of Rs. 5,000/- for dismal performance of his charge.
