Racing Incidents
Trainer Mr. Arjun Mangalorkar and Jockey S. John were questioned regarding the running and riding of STARISTA. The trainer stated that he had instructed the rider (a) to take a good jump and be up there with the leaders and ride out in the straight; (b) in hind sight after the race he felt that the distance was a bit short for his charge; (c) he had specifically instructed the rider not to whip too much as it did not relish the whip much; and (d) under the circumstances he was satisfied with the riding of his charge by Jockey S. John. The Jockey stated that his mount was galloping fluently when ridden in check but when asked for an effort with the whip it puts the ears back and therefore he goaded it and rode with hands and heels in the last 150 Metres. Their explanations were noted. Subsequently it was reported after the race that STARISTA (S. John) burst its blood vessels. Trainer Mr. Arjun Mangalorkar was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.
STARISTA (S. John) sustained a cut injury on right knee.
Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b g GRAND SUCCESS.
