Jockey Narain Singh the rider of KING OF PUNJAB was fined Rs.2000/- for not sufficiently persevering with his mount during the initial stages of the race.

Trainer S Ali Khan and Jockey Mohanlal were reported to the Stewards for the unsatisfactory running and riding of  AL KEFIA.

The Stewards held an enquiry into the running and riding of AL KEFIA ridden by Jockey Mohanlal and trained by S Ali Khan after the last race wherein AL KEFIA was checked on numerous occasions soon after jumping out of the Starting gates thereby restraining to rear position before making a late run in the home straight. The Veterinary Officer reported that a post race examination of the filly failed to reveal any abnormalities.

The Jockey stated that his instructions were to jump out well out of the starting gates  position 3^rd/4^th and do his best on entering the straight. He also further stated that his mount was throwing its head awkwardly in the initial stages of the race. The trainer confirmed the instructions and stated that he was quite satisfied with the handling of his charge by Jockey Mohanlal.

When asked to express the opinion the Stipendiary Steward stated that:-

1. He had specifically enquired from Jockey Mohanlal at the starting gates with regards to his  instructions and cautioned him.
2. The betting analysis revealed that AL KEFIA drifted from 4/1 to 8/1 for win and 1-3/4 to 2-1/2 for place with on course Bookmakers.
3. AL KEFIA in its last outing in Race No.62 where it was placed 2^nd did not show any sign of abnormality.
4. That the riding of jockey Mohanlal reveals that he rode his mount in a unsatisfactory manner, hence he may be suspended for unsatisfactory riding in that:-

1. He unnecessarily restrained his mount in the early stages of the race, thereby loosing his position.
2. Approaching the turn into the straight he failed to make sufficient effort to improve his position when it was reasonable and permissible to do so.

After hearing their statements, considering the opinion expressed by the Stipendiary Steward and after due deliberations they decided to:-

1. Suspend the Trainer’s licence granted to S Ali Khan w.e.f. 30^th November 2015  to 15^th December,2015  (both days inclusive) for the unsatisfactory running of his charge AL KEFIA in the above race.

b) Suspend the jockey’s licence granted to Mohanlal from riding in races from  30^th  November 2015 to 12^th January 2016 (both days inclusive) for his unsatisfactory riding of his mount AL KEFIA  thereby contravening Rule     No.161(ii) of RWITC Rules of Racing. He was not permitted to ride work/ Mock race during the period of his suspension.

c) The Trainer and the Jockey were informed that the Stewards had taken a lenient  view at this instance and henceforth their performance will be closely monitored .

Trainer and the Jockey were advised of their right of their appeal.

The Club’s Veterinary Officer reported that SHE IS INDIA  bled. In terms of RWITC Racing calendar notification the horse has been banned  from racing for a stipulated period of 4 weeks (1^st time bleeder). Trainer Sartaj Singh was advised a veterinary certificate of fitness would be required prior to presenting for future trial or race.

Urine sample was taken for analysis from the winner RED APPLE in the presence of Trainer Magan Singh and was sent for Analytical test.
