At the behest of the Stipendiary Steward a Stewards enquiry was ordered “ in which Jockey Harkesh Kumar the rider of  MASTER STEFANO placed third by the Judge interfered the horses viz., COCO AGAIN ( T S Jodha),TEG (Ranjeet Singh), MISS VENUS ( G S Shekhawat) & THE SHIELD (Suresh Kumar)

The Stewards held an enquiry immediately after the race interviewed the Jockeys  Harkesh Kumar, T S Jodha, Ranjeet Singh, & G S Shekhawat. After deliberations, considering the opinion expressed by the Stipendiary Steward and based on the observation of the race and the evidence tendered by the Jockeys the Stewards were satisfied that an alteration to the placings could be justified. Therefore, they decided to disqualify MASTER STEFANO from the above race and revised the order of placings as under:-
                 HOT BLOOD              I     
                 TRUSTED MAN         II
                 TEG                              III
                 COCO AGAIN             IV
The Stewards further continued their enquiry and examined Jockey Harkesh Kumar. After hearing his statements, considering the opinion expressed by the Stipendiary Steward and after due deliberations they decided to suspend the Jockey’s Licence granted to Harkesh Kumar w.e.f. 2nd January 2016 to 18th February 2016 (both days inclusive) for dangerous riding thereby contravening Rule No.161 (i) of RWITC Rules of Racing. In that:-

a)    Soon after jumping out of the starting gate he made no effort to control his mount , thereby allowing it to shift in and bump into THE SHIELD, which passed it onto TEG, which in turn passed it onto MISS VENUS, and the worst sufferer being TEG.

b)    Approaching the 900 mts he permitted his mount to shift in, whereby TEG galloping on the rails had to be checked by it rider to avoid being clipped.
c)    Approaching the 100 mts, he deliberately rode his mount inwards under the use of whip whereby COCO AGAIN galloping on the rails, had to be checked by its rider thereby losing considerable ground and lost its rightful running.

In considering the above penalty the Stewards were mindful of:
•    The seriousness of the charge.
•    The riding of Jockey Harkesh Kumar was intentional and deliberate.
•    The dangerous position riders and horses were placed.
He was not permitted to ride work/mock race during the period of his suspension. He was  advised of his right of appeal.

Urine sample was taken for analysis from the winner HOT BLOOD in the presence of Trainer Rajinder and was sent for Analytical test.
