Jockey G S Shekhawat the rider of YALAMLAM reported that after jumping out of the starting gates his mount was not galloping fluently and running very erratic. The horse was impounded for veterinary examination and the Club’s Veterinary Officer reported that YALAMLAM  had “ Sharp molars” (Abrasion on right side cheeks). Trainer Mallikarjun was advised to take remedial measures.

Jockey Rajinder Saini the rider of BLACK MAGIC reported that approaching 300 mts when he applied pressure on his mount it started to drift out and finished on the outer portion of the race track. Trainer Rajkumar Saini was informed to take remedial measures before accepting with his charge in a race.

Jockey S Amjad Khan the rider of NIZABATI PRINCE reported that YALAMLAM (G S Shekhawat) which was running erratic in the race thereby he suffered  interference approaching 1100mts due to which he was momentarily imbalanced, stumbled and thereafter his mount did not raise a fluent gallop.

Trainer Ajay Sharma was called in and questioned with regard to the running of GRACE KELLY which was unplaced in the above race as compared to its last run in Race No.205 THE ACT IN TIME PLATE.DIV.II, A HANDICAP FOR INDIAN HORSES RATED 20-46 (Abt) 1000 mts on 23.2.2016 where it was placed 2nd when ridden by the same rider.

The trainer sated that:-

i)     He had instructed the jockey to jump out and position himself wherever comfortable and do his best on entering the straight.
ii)     He further stated that his charge which is 4 years old still a maiden in its own performance, however by default it is has a win  to its  performance.
iii)     He further opined that his charge is capable of only 5 furlong race. His explanation was noted for future reference.

Trainer Rajinder and Jockey Irfan Ali were reported to the Stewards for the running and riding of MISS UNIVERSE. The Stewards held an enquiry after the last race and interviewed trainer Rajinder and Irfan Ali. After hearing their statements, considering the opinion expressed by the Stipendiary Steward and after due deliberations they decided to:-

1)    Fine Trainer Rajinder a sum of Rs.15000/- for the unsatisfactory running of his charge MISS UNIVERSE in the above race.

2)    Suspend the jockey’s licence granted to Irfan Ali from riding in races from 19th March 2016 to 4th April 2016 (both days inclusive) for unsatisfactory riding on his mount MISS UNIVERSE in the above race thereby contravening Rule No.161 (ii) of RWITC Rules of Racing. He was permitted to ride work during the period of his suspension.

Trainer and the Jockey were advised of their Right of Appeal.  

Jockey Ramandeep Singh Bal the rider of MASTER VANPERISE was reprimanded for making celebratory gesture.

Trainer S Nawab was called in and questioned regarding the improved performance and inconsistent pattern of running of MASTER VANPERISE the winner of the above race as compared to its last run in race No.194 THE ENSEMBLE MILLENNIUM MILLION, A Handicap for Horses Rated 20-46,  5yrs old & over(Dist- Abt) 1200 Mts on 16.2.2016 where it was unplaced.

The trainer stated that:-

i)    On both the occasions he had instructed the   jockeys  to  position 2nd/3rd and do his best on entering  the straight.
ii)    He further stated that in its last run in Race No.194 it ran after suffering  from colic wherein in Race No.149  it was withdrawn.
iii)    The last run in Race No.194 was in a Million Race and  the pace of the race was initially quite fast and the timing recorded in that race is 1.11.94 wherein his charge could not keep up with the pace inspite of the jockeys efforts and the timing recorded in the above race is 1.13.91.

v)    In its previous run his charge was ridden by an apprentice claiming  allowance however today it was ridden by superior jockey.

Not being satisfied with his explanations he was reported to the Stewards.

The Stewards held a enquiry after the last race and examined trainer S Nawab. After hearing his statements considering the opinion expressed by the Stipendiary Steward the Stewards further directed the Stipendiary Steward to hold a detailed enquiry into the running and riding and place the same at their next meeting.

MISS UNIVERSE was impounded for veterinary examination and the Club’s Veterinary Officer reported no apparent abnormality.

Urine sample was taken from the winner MASTER VANPERISE in the presence of  Trainer S Nawab  and was sent for analytical test.
