Racing Incidents

UNIVERSAL JOY (Arman Ali Jafri) was extremely fractious and refused to be loaded into the starting gates as such it was withdrawn before coming under starter’s orders. In consequence of UNIVERSAL JOY being withdrawn a deduction of 10% on win and 50% on place bets was effected.

Trainer K P Singh and Jockey Sameer Khan were called in and questioned regarding the running and riding of  COMPREHENSIVE. The trainer stated that:-

  1. His charge was running after a long lay off  approximately  6 months
  2. He had instructed the jockey to take a good jump and position wherever suitable and do his best on entering the straight.
  3. He was also quite surprised as his charge opening as a firm favourite in its first run of the season and which also doesn’t have much credible performance to its account in the previous season.

Jockey Sameer Khan confirmed the trainers instructions and stated that approaching the 400 mts when he rode out his mount it did not respond much to his urgings, hence he eased up in the final stages of the race. However,  jockey Sameer Khan was informed he should ride out his mount till passing the winning post.

Urine sample was taken for analysis from the winner MISS CHENNAI in the presence of Trainer H A Khan and sent for Analytical test.
