Jockey C S Jodha the rider of DARING reported that soon after jumping out of the starting gate his mount drifted in sharply inspite of his best efforts to keep it on even course thereby inconveniencing GREY TIGER (Sameer Khan) on his inside. The Club’s Veterinary Officer was requested to check the horse for any abnormalities who stated that as the horse is very fractious, hence it needs to be checked in the stables after the race and submit his report thereof.

Trainer Sangeet Charan and Jockey Sameer Khan were questioned regarding the running and riding of GREY TIGER especially the colt was restrained till about the 300 metres, thereafter gradually made ground and finished IV some 3-3/4 lengths behind the winner. The trainer stated that:-

    i) He had instructed the jockey to position 3rd /4th and do his best on entering the straight  till such time the horse is going handy and then only ride out as it has a short burst of speed.
   ii) He further stated that his charge is a rorar which has been observed to be in the  morning track practice.
  iii)  In its earlier runs when it was ridden by the same rider it had run on board and he is quite satisfied with the jockey’s handling of his charge in the above race.

The jockey corroborating the trainer’s statements stated that he had followed the trainer’s instructions and done his best. Under the circumstances of the race in that he was instructed to apply no pressure till such time the horse was travelling comfortably.

“The Club’s Veterinary Officer reported on 8th March 2017 as under:-

GREY TIGER had wolf teeth on Right Side and sustained bit injury on left side of check. Sore Shin on mid of cannon on right Fore Leg. Entry stopped till passed fit. Accordingly Trainer Sangeet Charan was advised a veterinary certificate of fitness would be required prior to presenting for future trial or race.

An enquiry has been opened into the running and riding of GREY TIGER Trained by Sangeet Charan and ridden by Jockey Sameer Khan.

Jockey Md Asif Khan the rider of  ARFFA reported that his mount was running erratic and he had difficulty in riding out his mount and travelled on the outer portion of the race track inspite of his best efforts. Trainer S M Abbas was advised to take remedial measures before accepting with it again in a race.

Urine sample was taken for analysis from the winner DARING in the presence of Trainer Ajay Sharma  and sent for analytical test.
