App Jockey Muzammil Hashmi the rider of SWAN LAKE was reprimanded for taking an unduly lead for no apparent reason.

Jockey C S Jodha the rider of OH SO HOT reported that after being loaded his mount was fractious inside the starting gate and leaning onto one side thereby it jumped awkwardly inwards as the start was effected. Thereafter he rode out his mount as per the trainer’s instructions. He further stated that his mount is an ordinary horse and yet to perform positively. His explanation was noted for future reference.

Jockey Sandeep Rajput the rider of MASTER PHONEIX reported that his mount jumped awkwardly outwards and thereafter he was inconvenienced by BLACK PEPPER(Naresh Kumar) on his inside. He further stated that he was instructed to position 4th/5th and do his best on entering the straight and as the pace of the race was very fast he rode out his mount as per the instructions. His explanation was noted.

Trainer Rajinder and Jockey Naresh Kumar were called in and questioned regarding the running and riding of BLACK PEPPER. Not being satisfied with their explanations they were reported to the Stewards. The Stewards held an enquiry after the last race and interviewed Trainer Rajinder and Jockey Naresh Kumar. After hearing their statements, considering the opinion expressed by the Stipendiary Steward and on their own observation based on the replay of the  race the Stewards resolved to :-

i) Fine Trainer Rajinder a sum of Rs.10000/- for the unsatisfactory running of his charge BLACK PEPPER.

ii) Suspend the Jockey’s licence granted to Jockey Naresh Kumar w.e.f. 30 Dec to 16 Jan 2018 (both days inclusive) for unsatisfactory riding on his mount BLACK PEPPER thereby contravening Rule No.161(ii) of RWITC Rules of Racing.  He was permitted to ride work/ mock race during the  period of his suspension. Advised of their Right of Appeal.

The Club’s Veterinary Officer reported that SWAN LAKE bled. In terms of RWITC Racing calendar notification the horse has been banned  from racing for a stipulated period of 4 weeks (1st time bleeder). Trainer M Ahsan was advised a veterinary certificate of fitness would be required prior to presenting for future trial or race.

Urine sample was taken for analysis from the winner LOVEABLE  in the presence of Trainer Magan Singh and was sent for analytical test.
