Racing Incidents

At the start, DIAMONDINTHEROUGH (Afzal Khan) lost about five lengths.
Trainer Sarfaraz Khan has been asked to give sufficient gate practice before next accepting to race.

At the behest of the Stipendiary Stewards, A Stewards enquiry was called into the interference caused after the start by jockey DS Rathore (MASTER COWBOY).

The stewards considered the submission made by the Sr. Stipendiary Steward and having interviewed the jockeys participating in the race and also noting explanation tendered by jockey DS Rathore and after exhaustive viewing of the race were of the opinion that Jockey DS Rathore had ridden dangerously without caring for safety of other runners and shifted IN before the red marker and severely interfered the entire field which could have resulted in an accident and decided to:

a)        Disqualify MASTER COWBOY (DS Rathore) from the race for Dangerous Riding.

b)    Revise the order of placing as under :

ALEX    (FIRST)        ASHWA PUSHKIN    (SECOND) JUGGAAD (THIRD)    DIAMONDINTHEROUGH (FOURTH)
 
After the last race, Jockey DS Rathore (MASTER COWBOY) was reported to the Stewards for Dangerous Riding.

The Stewards considered the recommendation of the Stipendiary Stewards and having viewed the video of the race and heard the submission of jockey DS Rathore.
Not being satisfied with his explanation the Stewards held jockey DS Rathore guilty of dangerous riding wherein he shifted IN before the red marker and severely interfered the field without caring for safety of others which could have resulted in an accident.

In view of the above the Stewards decided to:

A)        Suspend jockey DS Rathore license for Dangerous riding for eight race days i.e 21st April 2023 to 30th April 2023 (both days inclusive) (permitted to ride work).
B)        The remaining punishment will continue and he shall remain suspended if the racing season is extended by the stewards or if he applies for a license for season 2023/2024 then the stewards may recommend his jockey license however he shall remain suspended for the remaining race days till his eight race days suspension is complete.
C)    He was informed of his right to appeal.
