Racing Incidents

At the start, LARGER THEN LIFE (Shivam) lost about a length.

Trainer Mallikarjun and jockey P Kiran Rai were questioned regarding running and riding of OSIBISA wherein the jockey allowed his mount to take an undue lead over the field in a 1600 meters race as a result the mare fizzled out and dropped back from 350 meters. Not being satisfied with their explanation after the last race Trainer Mallikarjun and jockey P Kiran Rai were reported to the Stewards.

The stewards considered the submissions made by the stipendiary Stewards and after interviewing Trainer Mallikarjun and jockey P Kiran Rai were not satisfied with their explanation.

In view of the above the Stewards decided:

a)    To fine Trainer Mallikarjun a sum of Rs 20,000/-for Inconsistent Instructions and Misleading statement during enquiry.
b)    To Fine jockey P Kiran Rai a sum of Rs 20,000/- for unsatisfactory riding.

They were reminded of their right to appeal.
