Racing Incidents

At the start, MASTER OF SUCCESS (Angad) lost about two lengths.

Trainer S Ali Khan & App. Jockey Narendra S Rathor were questioned regarding running and riding of GALWAY BAY. When questioned Jockey informed he was instructed to settle the horses in 5/6th position and to do his best in the straight and informed that he could not get the opening anywhere in the race therefore he was sitting behind, even after coming in the straight he could not get the opening. When questioned Trainer informed he had instructed App. Jockey Narendra S Rathor to settle in 4/5th position and do his best in the straight. Replay of the race was shown to them and Trainer S Ali Khan was asked for his observation to which he stated then he was satisfied with the Jockeys riding. When asked, Jockey Narendra S Rathor said that in early part he could not get the opening and later entering the straight also he was blocked. Replay of the race was shown to both of them and pointed out that throughout the race App. Narendra S Rathor in spite of getting a chance he has not improved his position deliberately.

He went behind the horses leaving a big gap inside entering the straight and from 250 meters he had clear opening even then he chose not to ride out. Not being satisfied with the explanation of Trainer and Jockey both were reported to the Stewards for not allowing the mount to run on its merits.

The Stewards after the last race interviewed Trainer S Ali Khan & Jockey Narendra S Rathor in the above connection and not being satisfied with their explanation decided to suspend app. jockey Narendra S Rathor pending enquiry with immediate effect for his gross misconduct by not allowing his mount GALWAY BAY to run on its merits. Further the Stewards directed Stipendiary Stewards to conduct a detail enquiry.

Veterinary examination of DEMERARA revealed left fore lameness. Trainer Zulfiqar Khan have been asked to obtain a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to their charge being presented for any future trial or race.

Veterinary examination of CHAIN OF THOUGHTS & GALWAY BAY revealed no apparent abnormality.
