Racing Incidents
As Jockey J H Christopher was certified medically unfit to ride after his ride in the 8th Race, permission was granted to Trainer Mr. Bipin V Salvi to substitute Jockey Md. Shafiq to ride his charge, MAZEPPA, in place of Jockey J H Christopher, the declared rider. ELUSIVE PRINCE (Vijay Kumar) burst its blood vessels after the race. Trainer Mr. C D Monnappa was informed to produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club`s Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again. The Stipendiary Stewards reported Jockey Melvyn Maseyk the rider of PURE GOLD to the Stewards for the excessive use of the whip on his mount during the race (fourth infringement). The Stewards held an enquiry after the last race and examined Jockey Melvyn Maseyk. After deliberations, they decided to withdraw the Jockey`s whip with immediate effect up to the conclusion of Mysore Winter Races 2007-08, i.e., 28th February, 2008, for the excessive use of the whip on his mount, PURE GOLD, during the above race (fourth infringement).
