Racing Incidents
Trainer Mr. Sharat Kumar and Jockey S. John were questioned regarding the poor performance of SUPERLATIVO as compared to its previous run in Race No.53, The Fair Wood Plate- (about) 1600 Metres when ridden by Jockey Afsar Khan it ran 3rd. The trainer stated that (a) the pace was too fast in this race; (b) he had given fast work 3 days prior to the race; (c) his charge had worked well; (d) he thought his charge should win on that particular fast work; and (e) he was surprised by the poor performance of his charge and could not attribute any specific reason. The Jockey corroborated the statement of the trainer. Their explanations were noted.
