Racing Incidents
As Jockey S Rajesh, the declared rider of LAKE EMERALD, tested positive during the Breathalyzer Test and was not permitted to fulfill his riding engagement, permission was granted to Trainer Mr. Rakesh to substitute Jockey Gaurav Sapra to ride LAKE EMERALD in place of the declared rider. Trainer Mr. Bipin V Salvi was fined Rs.2,000/- for the inordinate delay in presenting his charge, HAKUNA MATATA (C Krishnan) to the Paddock. GAMBIT (G Y Rajesh Babu) was extremely fractious and refused to be stalled. Under the circumstances, it was permitted to be withdrawn before coming under Starter's Order. MR MAGIC (Melvyn Maseyk) planted and lost many lengths at the start. In view of its behaviour, Trainer Mr. C D Monnappa was informed that he must not accept with it again until its behaviour improved to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in one Mock Race on a Race Day on the race track. Trainer Mr. T Natraj was fined Rs.2,000/- for faulty fastening of bandage on both the fore in respect of his charge, REFUSE TO BEND (M Suresh), in that the bandages came loose during the race. He was further cautioned to be more careful in future. It was reported after the race that REFUSE TO BEND (M Suresh) pulled up lame on right fore. Trainer Mr. T Natraj was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again. Jockey Gaurav Sapra the rider of LAKE EMERALD was fined Rs.1,000/- for the excessive use of the whip on his mount during the race (first infringement). The Stipendiary Stewards reported Jockey S Rajesh, the declared rider of LAKE EMERALD, to the Stewards for violation of BTC Calendar Notification under the heading 'Alchohol Testing of Riders' , in that he tested positive in the Breathalyzer Test conducted before the first race. The Stewards held an enquiry and examined Jockey S. Rajesh. After deliberations, they decided to (a) suspend the Jockey's Licence granted to Jockey S. Rajesh from 28-5-2011 to 29-5-2011(both the days inclusive); and (b) fine him a sum of Rs.2,500/- (1st offence during the season) for violation of BTC Calendar Notification under the heading 'Alchohol Testing of Riders' (permitted to ride work).
