Racing Incidents

SAKURA DELIGHT (J H Christopher) was observed to be running green. Trainer Mr. Rakesh, when questioned regarding the performance of his charge, in relation to the prime favouritism enjoyed by it in the above race, stated as follows; a) the 2 year old has been working really well, based on which, he expected it to win the Race; b) that his charge was much better than his other two of his charges in the Race viz., EVANDER (Sarvan Kumar) and SUBHAGYA (Dharmendar) which finished ahead of it; c) that he was totally shocked at its performance and is not in a position to understand the reason therefor. The horse was impounded for veterinary examination and was also scoped but no abnormality was reported. However, he was informed to ensure better performance of his charge in future.

Jockey Sarvan Kumar, the rider of EVANDER, was fined Rs.2,000/- for his negligence pertaining to weighing 'in'.
